Somsar Sri Ramakrishna Seva Mandir is chiefly a service-oriented organisation.

Like any other village of West Bengal or India, the problems of Somsar and the villages around are identical - there is no scope for proper education; hardly any health services are available; whereas, there is widespread unemployment. Unemployed, underemployed men and women crowd the area. In the given circumstances, Seva Mandir has come forward to implement certain development programmes on priority basis.
